I thoroughly enjoy the process of writing. It isn't important if my words are read or not, as long as I can live the words as they go onto the paper. I love my characters and identify with them in so many ways. My favorite times are when the characters actually surprise me with their actions; when they do something I didn't anticipate, even though I created them and outlined the story. Don't get so tied up in your outline that you can't deviate from what you originally created, even to make you story better. Be open to improvement.
There are many sites on the web where we can get paid for writing. Kindle, for example, allows you to be paid by how many times your book is read for free, if you choose that service.
I am currently in the process of trying a new service . . . at least it's new to me. The name of it is http://channillo.com/for-writers/faq/ At this site you can choose to post as many times as you wish. I will be publishing my book there, if they accept me. I will keep all of you who are interested up to date on my progress, or lack thereof, at this site. I chose to publish several times per week. You can read my book there and see what you think.
Thanks to all of you for reading. I will be adding useful sites here so that it might be helpful to some of you. Please feel free to comment.
Working hard on book 2 . . . and no, it won't be called "Return of the Dragon King." lol In case you missed it, that is my blatant reference to "Lord of the Rings." If you haven't read "The Dragon King Rises" then please, either get a copy from one of the online book stores or I'll send you a signed copy for $15. Thanks, and keep reading.
People, you did it. You raised $1350 for a needy family. It is a wonderful thing, indeed, to help a stranger. They thank you, and I thank you.
The Phillips family lost their home. They are spending the next couple of weeks with us. They have two children, one almost 3 years old, and the other is 3 months old. They lost their home to weather and we need $1300 to get them into another one. We have raised $605 so far. You can help by donating, sharing their page to facebook, and with your prayers. Please help if you are able to. Thanks. Darrel http://www.youcaring.com/emergency-fundraiser/help-the-phillips-family-into-a-home-/308253#.VONtsypUsmJ.facebook
Rachel Phillips, and her family recently lost their home due to their pipes bursting. They got evicted with very little notice and are trying to get enough funding to get into a small duplex or apartment as soon as possible. We are shooting for March 1st. They have a two year old child and a newborn. Are any of you blessed enough that you can help someone who is less fortunate at this time? If you can help post a comment to that effect. Thank you so much.
So how do you assure the quality in the second book and make it better than the first? When I find out I'll tell you!
I'm happy to say that so far, those who have reviewed "The Dragon King Rises" have praised the book. I am thankful for that. If any of you want to read it but can't afford it (it is $3.95 on Kindle) I would be glad to send you a pdf file so that you can enjoy my book, as well. Please, if you read it, give me a review. I need all the reviews I can get.
If you want a signed copy of the book, send $20.00 to me including shipping, and I will send the book to you. Email me for my P.O. Box. Thanks, Darrel
My book, "The Dragon King Rises," will be re-released by the end of December. It will have a new cover, new layout, and new marketing. It's still the same great story. Try it and see!
